Auxois, BurgundyThe manor sits on a limestone shelf above a wooded valley, with its outbuildings set square to the prevailing wind. The fabric had been maintained but never modernised, which left the geometry intact and the decisions open.
Two boreholes were tested across a full season before any plant was specified. The kitchen garden was re-established on its historic terraces, where the walls still hold heat into the evening.
The elevations read exactly as they did before: the changes are underground, behind the stone, and in what the land now produces.
