Geothermal heating in a historic French farmhouse

Stone walls of eighty centimetres behave slowly. They reward a heating system that runs at low temperature over long hours, which is exactly what a ground-source installation does best.

The work is mostly outside the house: horizontal loops under a paddock, or vertical probes where the parcel is tight. Inside, the priority is emitters sized for low flow temperatures, so that no original surface has to be lined or lost.

Commissioning is measured over a full winter. We record flow temperature, consumption and comfort room by room, and correct the balance before the first season ends.
